Without repeating venues, the duo has played a new venue for now 4 concerts. With founding members Oliver Lovekin and Afraaz Mulji on guitar and synths respectively, Aaron blewett returns on drums, and Rashaan Allwood begins his public association with cymatics on modular synthesizers and other cyborg instruments! With such a superGroup of musical talent, it will surely be a cymatic event of seismic proportions!
The quartet will perform as a musical installation in the Royal ONtario museum, a larger than life setting that places the group in a beautiful and immersive environment of history, traditions, and cultures.

Beginning week 2 with a bang, oliver presents a new side to improvised music at the emmet ray - Ambient Electronica!
DIAD is a duo focused on free, conversational, and avant-esq ambient music. The creative voices of Oliver Lovekin (guitar) & Aaron Blewett (drums) comprise DIAD. Feel free to visit the “bands” tab of this website to hear some listening samples of Diad’s music.
This performance will also be featuring saxophonist Allison au on saxophone and effects! It is a rare and marvellous thing to hear the saxophone in a re-imagined and hybrid light when it is enhanced with effects-pedals capabilities. Oliver and Aaron are very eager to feature Allison’s creativity as part of the diad concert.

The Emmett Hodgins Quintet is a group of Humber College Graduate musicians exploring a creative approach to Modern jazz music, with original compositions by Emmett Hodgins curated for this band as well as a mix of some of the favourite avant Jazz tunes from genius composers that suit the band.
