About The Oliver Lovekin Standards Quartet

After studying with many excellent musicians at Toronto’s Humber college, Oliver decided to form a dedicated ensemble to honour and explore the rich history of standards in the Jazz tradition.

Black american music plays a formative role in his musical identity, with special interest in the music of Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, cole porter, miles davis, and john coltrane, to name a few.
